For a student who wishes to take the bar exam, understanding the basics of the legal system is critical. By acquiring knowledge of law and the role of law in society, a student will be better prepared to pass the bar exam. Religious and political viewpoints on this topic are the focus of this course.Religious law is often confused with traditional civil law. But, it is a different institution. One difference is that it is applicable to civil matters whil e civil law covers only civil cases. Another important distinction is that civil law is based on the United States Constitution, whereas religious law covers matters pertaining to nature, morals, and ethics. In addition, religious law differs from civil law in that religious law does not require a judge or jury.Religious law is a great way to learn about the roles of the law in our society. It is a universally accepted concept that applies to all cultures. The goal of religious law is to enhance the quality of life through adherence to God's laws. Religion and the Law offer additional information about the history of religious law, while also providing valuable resources for practicing attorneys.The best legal scholars are concerned with the code of conduct for the people of the world. Through a variety of perspectives, they create a framework that protects the 'spirit' of what it means to be human. Religion and the law look at the role of the rule of law in fostering a spirit of hu manity. One of the most important questions posed by this course is how the current legal system can maintain the integrity of the religious faith in the face of increasing persecution and discrimination.Why do we see so many Christian fundamentalists in the Middle East? What is the connection between religion and politics? These are some of the challenges posed by this course.Religion and the Law also examine the relationship between religion and the law. Answering questions on the ethics of religion can be enlightening and motivating. In addition, the student will gain insight into the changing perception of religion throughout the world. Religion and the Law to teach about what it means to practice the faith in today's society.The course title is an obvious allusion to the philosophy of religion, especially because it considers the role of religion in legal practices. It explores different ways of incorporating religious beliefs into the legal system. By introducing students to t he thought process behind legal decisions, they are better able to identify where they may stand on controversial issues.
